When I saw my neighbor’s daughter waddling down the street at 9 months pregnant, I immediately texted her to ask if she needed a photographer for a San Francisco newborn session. As luck would have it, her daughter had already saved a few of my newborn photos on Instagram as inspiration, so it was the perfect match!
While I live in Palo Alto, I love going up to San Francisco for photo sessions. Being in the city gives me so much nostalgia for my time in Chicago and NYC, especially when I get to visit apartments as cute as this one! The parents wanted a relaxed newborn session at home, and that’s exactly what we did. They played upbeat yet relaxing music during the session, and as a San Francisco newborn photographer, I loved the vibe. Who wouldn’t be happy listening to Noah Kahan and snuggling a fresh baby? Their dog, Moose, was a total ham for the photos… although he did whack baby in the face with his tail once. He was so excited to be around her–the start of a beautiful friendship 🙂
The parents wore jeans and sweaters, a relaxed look that spoke to their personalities. Baby wore her birthday suit, and honestly, what’s better than that? Almost nothing.
Mom and Dad are hopelessly in love with their little girl, and it showed so much throughout my time with them. Dad plays guitar, so we got some sweet photos of baby on the guitar while he was playing. It was beautiful to see how calm she was once Dad started playing; it’s the start of a really beautiful bond.
If you’re looking for a photographer for a San Francisco newborn session, give me a shout here! I would love to venture up to SF to capture the first days of your family’s new life. Photographing newborns is truly one of the biggest honors of my career.
As a mother myself, I know how important it is to find a good pediatrician for your kid(s). Especially for your first child, this person is your lifeline for the first few months of newborn life, when you’re worried about every little thing! You want a pediatrician who is empathetic, a good listener, and knowledgeable […]
It’s Friday evening. Your kid just reminded you that you have a birthday party tomorrow morning, and you haven’t picked up a present yet. Eek! Sound familiar? Luckily, there are several Palo Alto toy stores (or nearby) that can help you grab a thoughtful, age-appropriate gift in no time—many with free gift wrapping to boot. […]
I had the best time taking Los Altos High School Graduation Portraits with this beautiful senior! She grew up in the area, and we decided to do her senior portrait session at Foothills Nature Preserve in Palo Alto. This is one of my favorite locations to take photo sessions at because of the vast variety […]
I’ve been there–when you have a newborn baby (or young children in general!), sometimes you are just dying to get out of the house. We are so lucky to live in an area that has good weather so much of the time, and there is no shortage of stroller-friendly hikes near Palo Alto. As a […]
It’s been a while since I’ve used Tinder (long story short: I married my best friend), but I did use it and other apps like it back in my dating years. We all know the trope of the photo of “the guy holding a giant fish”… no more of those, please! So many people have […]
As an avid reader myself, I have a vested interest in making sure my children have a love of books. And my husband knows that we can’t walk by a bookstore without me at least popping in for 5 minutes an hour. Along with my boys, I spend a lot of time looking up local […]
