Oh, what a joy it was to spend time with this beautiful family at the Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto! They had the best time chasing little brother, throwing big sister in the air, and having tickle fights on the lawn. I helped them with wardrobe styling to ensure their final photos would seamlessly blend into their home decor once the photos were printed and framed. We went with a neutral, natural color palette: light green for mom, light pink for big sister, light blue for little brother and a classic white button down for dad. This combination flattered everyone’s skin tones beautifully and looked really nice in the garden setting. I brought a neutral muslin throw blanket so the family would have something to sit on–and the color was purposeful so as not to clash with the rest of the outfits. As a Palo Alto family photographer, I include complimentary wardrobe styling with every single session.
As your Palo Alto family photographer, I am dedicated to bringing out your family’s natural beauty by leaning into the ages and stages your kids are in. We started the session off with what I like to call “Mother-in-law portraits,” AKA what the grandparents would want to frame in their house–more “formal” family portraits. Once those were out of the way, we got silly and captured some candid moments of the family just having some fun! Family photos don’t have to be stiff–we can have fun AND capture some beautiful photos that you’ll cherish forever.
If you’re looking for a Palo Alto family photographer, I would be so honored to capture these sweet moments for you. Contact me here to get started.

It’s been a while since I’ve used Tinder (long story short: I married my best friend), but I did use it and other apps like it back in my dating years. We all know the trope of the photo of “the guy holding a giant fish”… no more of those, please! So many people have […]
As an avid reader myself, I have a vested interest in making sure my children have a love of books. And my husband knows that we can’t walk by a bookstore without me at least popping in for 5 minutes an hour. Along with my boys, I spend a lot of time looking up local […]
Since moving to California, my family has frequented the farmer’s market a lot. Like, a lot a lot. We absolutely love strolling through and searching for the juiciest peaches and strawberries (among other tasty fruits and veggies). I knew for my baby’s celebration, we just had to do a farmer’s market themed first birthday party. […]
As a mom of an 11mo, I am always looking for drop-in play spaces around Palo Alto and the surrounding areas. It’s surprisingly hard to find places that offer playtime on a whim! Through some research (aka consulting my mom friends), I found the below drop-in play spaces for families. Be sure to check each […]
When I saw my neighbor’s daughter waddling down the street at 9 months pregnant, I immediately texted her to ask if she needed a photographer for a San Francisco newborn session. As luck would have it, her daughter had already saved a few of my newborn photos on Instagram as inspiration, so it was the […]
As someone who has moved across the country multiple times (Phoenix, Chicago, New York, then the Bay Area), I know firsthand the importance of creating community for myself for my own mental health. I was already trying to make new friends before our plane even landed in California! So imagine my excitement when I met […]
