As a Bay Area branding photographer based in Palo Alto, I have the privilege of capturing meaningful moments that help brands tell their unique stories. Recently, I had the honor of volunteering my time and photography services for Ada’s Cafe, a beloved local gem dedicated to inclusivity, delicious food, and community connection.
Located in Palo Alto, Ada’s Cafe is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee—it’s a nonprofit organization with a mission to hire, train, and empower employees with disabilities. Their 501(c)(3) status allows them to foster an environment where individuals of all abilities can thrive. Ada’s is known not only for its warm, welcoming atmosphere but also for its commitment to researching and improving workplace accessibility. Their motto, “Where Good Food and Community Meet,” perfectly encapsulates their dedication to making a difference, one meal at a time.
When I had the opportunity to photograph Ada’s Cafe for a Bay Area branding photography session, I didn’t hesitate. As a photographer who supports small businesses and startups, I understand the power of strong visuals in telling a story. But this session was about more than just branding—it was about capturing the heart of a community-driven organization.
From the joyful interactions between staff members to the beautifully crafted lattes and fresh pastries, every moment I captured reflected Ada’s core values: Commercial Success, Community Values, and Compassionate Employment.
Branding photography plays a crucial role in showcasing what makes a business special. High-quality images help small businesses connect with their audience, build trust, and stand out in a competitive market. Whether you run a nonprofit like Ada’s Cafe, a startup, or a family-owned shop, having professional branding photos can elevate your online presence and authentically represent your mission.
If you’re in Palo Alto, I highly encourage you to visit Ada’s Cafe—not only for their amazing food and drinks but also to support their mission of workplace inclusivity. If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so here. And if you’re a small business or entrepreneur looking to tell your story through branding photography, I’d love to help you showcase your vision with professional, compelling imagery.
I had the best time taking Los Altos High School Graduation Portraits with this beautiful senior! She grew up in the area, and we decided to do her senior portrait session at Foothills Nature Preserve in Palo Alto. This is one of my favorite locations to take photo sessions at because of the vast variety […]
I’ve been there–when you have a newborn baby (or young children in general!), sometimes you are just dying to get out of the house. We are so lucky to live in an area that has good weather so much of the time, and there is no shortage of stroller-friendly hikes near Palo Alto. As a […]
It’s been a while since I’ve used Tinder (long story short: I married my best friend), but I did use it and other apps like it back in my dating years. We all know the trope of the photo of “the guy holding a giant fish”… no more of those, please! So many people have […]
As an avid reader myself, I have a vested interest in making sure my children have a love of books. And my husband knows that we can’t walk by a bookstore without me at least popping in for 5 minutes an hour. Along with my boys, I spend a lot of time looking up local […]
Since moving to California, my family has frequented the farmer’s market a lot. Like, a lot a lot. We absolutely love strolling through and searching for the juiciest peaches and strawberries (among other tasty fruits and veggies). I knew for my baby’s celebration, we just had to do a farmer’s market themed first birthday party. […]
As a mom of an 11mo, I am always looking for drop-in play spaces around Palo Alto and the surrounding areas. It’s surprisingly hard to find places that offer playtime on a whim! Through some research (aka consulting my mom friends), I found the below drop-in play spaces for families. Be sure to check each […]
